Thou hast found the life of thine hand, &c.— That is to say, "Thou hast found thy delight in that troublesome superstition; wherefore, though thou mayest labour grievously, yet thou sustainest all the trouble of it, because this superstition satisfies thy desire." Kimchi has it, The life of thy strength, for the hand is in man the instrument of labour, which is employed in superstition. See Vitringa.

10 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the lifec of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
