Jeremiah 33:8 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

And I will cleanse them— "I will no more remember their iniquity, or the iniquity of their fathers; their captivity, and the evils which they have endured, shall be under my grace a kind of baptism to purify them." But, as Houbigant well observes, God will then only pardon all the iniquities of the Jews when they enter into the Christian church, and then the nations shall be astonished: see the next verse; where, instead of, They shall fear and tremble, he reads, They shall wonder and be astonished; and instead of it in that verse, they and them.

Jeremiah 33:8

8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
