Matthew 15:27 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

And she said, Truth, Lord— Ναι, Κυριε : which is sometimes used as a form of assenting, and sometimes of intreating. "I acknowledge, Lord, the truth and justice of what thou hast said; nevertheless let me have such kindness as the dogs of any family enjoy: from the plenty of miraculous cures which thou bestowest on the Jews, drop the offal of this one to me, who am a poor distressed heathen; for by it they will suffer no greater loss than the children of a family do by the crumbs which are cast to the dogs." Matthew 15:27
