Sleep on now, &c.— Some read this interrogatively, Do you sleep on still and take repose? See Luke 22:46. This is a reproof which very well agrees with Matthew 26:40-41 and the words following that passage. Into the hands of sinners, means of the Gentiles, according to the stile of the Hebrews, (see Galatians 2:15) of which sort were the soldiers whom Judas brought along with him, John 18:3.
