Thou preservest man and beast— This seems at first sight to come in somewhat abruptly; but the Psalmist's meaning, was to express his sure dependence upon God, whose providence, as it extended over the beasts of the earth, would therefore much more certainly take care of him.

6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
