Revelation 5:7 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

And he came and took the book,— Daubuz understands the delivering of this book into the hands of Christ, as an act of inauguration or investiture into his regal power and authority, as mediatorial King; and shews that many of the expressions here used, are taken from the ceremonies of solemn investitures. But it should seem that his plan of interpreting does not well suit with the date of this vision, which was given to St. John many years after the period of our Lord's ascension, at which time this learned commentator supposes it to commence.

Revelation 5:7

7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
