And the glorious appearing— Even the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour. We may observe, in support of this version, which is perfectly agreeable to the original, that we never read in scripture of the appearance of God the Father; and consequently we have in this text as strong a proof as possible of the true divinity of Jesus Christ.
