Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

Pursue thee and overtake thee.] Though thou shuffle, as Balaam's ass once did before the angel, from side to side, and strive to shift them; though thou wriggle and writhe, after the manner of wrestlers, to avoid the foil; I will wry with thee, as in Psalms 18:26, and my hand shall meet thee at every turn.
