And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

Ver. 34. Took their dough, &c., upon their shoulders.] Not upon their camels, which, saith Aben Erza, were laden with the precious things borrowed of the Egyptians. Rab. Solomon saith, it was to show their cheerfulness in obeying the command of God. See a better reason afterwards, in Exodus 12:39 .
