Ver. 22. An overflowing rain, and great hailstones.] As once at the general deluge, destruction of Sodom, discomfiture of the kings of Canaan in Joshua's days. Jos 10:11 Some think that these judgments here threatened shall, towards the end of the world, be executed upon antichrist and his adherents according to the letter. See Revelation 16:21.
