The sword [is] without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that [is] in the field shall die with the sword; and he that [is] in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

Ver. 15. The sword is without, and the pestilence, &c.] No safety can be to such as are pursued by the divine vengeance, called therefore by the Greeks Aδραστεια, because there is no outrunning of it. a Of these three judgments (seldom separated) see Ezekiel 42:1,20; Ezekiel 3:1,27; Ezekiel 16:1,63; Ezekiel 17:1,24 Hξει Dωριακος πολεμος και λιμος β επ αυτω .
