For upon the first [day] of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first [day] of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also upon him, and he shall bring it to pass, Psalms 37:5. Holy Ezra had experimented all this (as also had Eliezer, Gen 24:56), and therefore ascribeth his good success to God's good providence.
