Watch ye, and keep [them], until ye weigh [them] before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.
Ver. 29. Watch ye] With utmost care and solicitude, as the word signifieth. How much more should we watch and treble watch, as Luke 12:37,38 ; Luk 12:43 to keep our vessels (bodies) in sanctification and honour, not in the lust of concupiscence, &c.! especially since Adversus maiora vigilantibus quaedam incautis minutiora surrepant, and Satan worketh strongest on the fancy when the soul is sleepy, or a little drowsy (Aug.). Watch ye therefore and keep. This lesson had need to be often rung in our ears.
