And she put the skins of the kids.] This by some is excused, as if it were only dolus bonus, to keep her husband from wrong doing; as, when the physician deceives his patient, that he may heal him. But howsoever what she did may be extenuated, it can hardly be justified, albeit God ordered it to his own purpose.
