This is the guise of the ungodly. He cries, Perii; not Peccavi. If he "howl upon his bed," Hos 7:14 it is for corn and oil, as a dog tied up howls for his dinner: it never troubles him, that a good God is offended, which to an honest heart is the prime cause of greatest sorrow.
