So sinners, be they never so stubborn, so stiff and high in the instep, that there is no dealing with them, yet when they are in straits and distresses it will be otherwise. God, said Mr Marbury, is fain to deal with wicked men, as men do with frisking jades in a pasture, that cannot be taken up till gotten to a gate; so till he seize upon them by some judgment or summons to die, &c.
