They who hold he did it publicly, extol the authority of the prophet, the boldness of Seraiah, and the mildness of the King of Babylon, somewhat like that of the King of Nineveh; Jon 3:6-9 but the most think he read it privately, yet not in some closet apart by himself, but in some private house to his countrymen who came unto him.
