God hath a fatherly care of both, and will not lay more upon the outward man than the inward shall be enabled to undergo. Hence that of the prophet, "Behold, I have tried thee, but not as silver," Isaiah 48:10. Why so? because God's weak children having far more dross in them than good ore, would never be able to abide a strict trial.
