The same is Jerusalem.] Anciently Jebus, Jdg 19:11 afterwards Jerusalem; not quasi ιερον σολυμων vel σολομωντος, as Hegesippus dreameth, but of Jireh, Gen 22:14 "he will provide," and Shalom, "peace."
