The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

Ver. 21. Good were it for that man] For his own particular: for otherwise, in respect of the glory of God's justice, in that man's righteous condemnation, good it was that he was born.
