Leviticus 5:2 - Wesley's Explanatory Notes

Bible Comments

If it be hidden from him — If he do it unawares, yet that would not excuse him, because he should have been more circumspect to avoid all unclean things. Hereby God designed to awaken men to watchfulness against, and repentance for, their unknown, or unobserved sins. He shall be clean — Not morally, for the conscience was not directly polluted by these things, but ceremonially.

Leviticus 5:2

2 Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
