John 10:40-42 - Dummelow's Commentary on the Bible

Bible Comments

The Peræan ministry. These vv. cover a period of about three months, which is generally spoken of as the Peræan ministry (see Matthew 19:1; Mark 10:1, and cp. Luke 9:51). Its chief incidents were the mission of the Seventy (Luke 10:1), the question of divorce (Matthew 19:3), the blessing of little children (Mark 10:13), the question of the rich young ruler (Mark 10:17), and Christ's message to Herod Antipas (Luke 13:31). The whole section, Luke 9:51 to Luke 18:34, appears to belong to this period, but many of the incidents are not chronologically arranged.

John 10:40-42

40 And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

41 And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

42 And many believed on him there.
