Feasts of charity] RV 'love feasts': cp. 2 Peter 2:13. Feeding themselves] RV 'shepherds that feed themselves': cp. Ezekiel 34:8, Trees whose fruit withereth] RV 'autumn trees'; they are twice dead, for the dying year is a symbol of death, and being plucked up by the roots is a symbol of the second death, from which there is no return to life: cp. Revelation 21:8.

Jude 1:12

12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds [they are] without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
