Matthew 8:1 - Dummelow's Commentary on the Bible

Bible Comments

When he was come down] Only St. Matthew mentions the historical connexion of this miracle, though both St. Mark and St. Luke agree that it took place during one of the early preaching tours in Galilee. St. Luke says that it was done in a city. The miracle comes appropriately after the sermon. Having said, 'I came not to destroy (the Law),' He now says, 'Offer the gift that Moses commanded.' Having taught with authority, He now heals with authority, 'I will, be thou clean.'

Matthew 8:1

1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
