And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. Washed their stripes - Ελουσεν απο των πληγων, He washed from the stripes: i.e. he washed the blood from the wounds; and this would not require putting them into a pool, or bath, as some have ridiculously imagined.
