And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. The angel of the Lord - The very person who was represented by this offering; the Lord Jesus, who calls himself Jehovah, Genesis 22:16, and on his own authority renews the promises of the covenant.
