And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. He showed unto them his hands and his side - So it appears that his body bore the marks of the nails and the spear; and these marks were preserved that the disciples might be the more fully convinced of the reality of his resurrection.
