For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.

Ready a year ago - to send off the money, owing to the apostle's exhortation (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).

Provoked - i:e., stimulated.

Very many, х tous (G3588) pleionas (G4119)] - 'the greater number,' namely, of the Macedonians. He stimulated the Macedonians by the example of the Corinthians, and (2 Corinthians 8:1-24) the Corinthians by that of the Macedonians.
