This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? х archonta (G758) kai (G2532) dikasteen (G1348)]. By "judge' here is plainly meant 'avenger,' answering to "deliverer," or 'redeemer,' in the next clause:

The same did God send, [the imperfect, apestalken (G649), is better attested than the aorist, apesteilen (G649), of the Received Text]

To be a ruler and a deliverer х archonta (G758) kai (G2532) lutrooteen (G3086)]. Stephen, it will be observed, purposely selects such terms in characterizing Moses as would make the intended parallel between him and Christ-rejected by the nation, but chosen God-unmistakeable.
