I will destroy them partly by my people's sword, partly by their swords being turned against one another (cf. 2 Chronicles 20:23, where we read that God caused Ammon and Moab to "stand up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them," and then "every one helped to destroy another," instead of destroying Jehoshaphat and Judah, as they had conspired to do).
