For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

For - How His being made like His brethren in all things has made Him a merciful and faithful High Priest for us (Hebrews 2:17).

He is the antitypical Solomon, having for every grain of Abraham's seed (about to be as the sand for number) "largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore" (1 Kings 4:29). 'He knows our trials, not only as God, but as man, by experimental feeling.'
