As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,
Is ashamed - is put to shame.
Thief - (John 10:1, "He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber," spiritually; in contrast to "the shepherd of the sheep," Jeremiah 2:2).
