And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
In thy power - Satan has no power against man until God gives it. God would not touch Job with, His own hand, though Satan asks this (Job 1:11, "put forth thine hand"), but allows the enemy to do so.
