But the burning wind would not be said to fall from heaven: therefore, it is likely by "the fire of God" is meant lightning (Exodus 9:23; Numbers 16:35; 1 Kings 18:38; 2 Kings 1:10; 2 Kings 1:12; 2 Kings 1:14). "The prince of the power of the air" is permitted to have control over such destructive agents.
