Job 2:3 - Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible

Bible Comments

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

Integrity - literally, completeness х tumaatow (H8538)], so 'perfect,' another form of the same Hebrew word (Job 1:1).

Movedst ... against - (so 1 Samuel 26:19; cf. 1 Chronicles 21:1 with 2 Samuel 24:1).

Destroy, х baala` (H1104)] - 'to swallow up,' to ruin him in respect to his earthly possessions (cf. Proverbs 1:12).
