Job 20:28 - Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible

Bible Comments

The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

Increase - prosperity. Ill gotten-ill gone.

Flow away - like waters that run dry in summer; using Job's own metaphor against himself (Job 6:15-17; 2 Samuel 14:14; Micah 1:4).

His wrath - God's.

Job 20:28

28 The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
