Did not commit (or 'trust') himself unto them, х ouk (G3756) episteuen (G4100) auton (G846) autois (G846)]. Though they confided in Him, He did not confide in them, or let Himself down to them familiarly, as He did to His genuine disciples.
Because he knew all men. He saw through them, as He did through all men, and, perceiving the superficial character of the trust they reposed in Him, He reposed none in them.
