Gideon said ... I would desire a request of you. This was the contribution of х nezem (H5141), singular] an earring; for, as the ancient Arabians (Ishmaelites and Midianites being synonymous terms, see the note at Judges 4:11; Genesis 37:25; Genesis 37:28; for, as both people inhabited the same "east" country, the two names would quite naturally have become convertible, just as we speak of Englishmen and Britons-of Frenchmen and Gauls.
