Hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? See the note at Mark 8:11. They were wise in their forecastings as to the things of time, but applied not the same sagacity to things spiritual, and were unable to perceive what a critical, decisive period for the chosen people they had fallen upon.
