And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
And there came a voice out of the cloud - "such a voice," says Peter emphatically х foonees (G5456) toiasde (G5107)]. "And this voice" he adds "we heard when we were with him in the holy mount" (2 Peter 1:17-18). There must have been something very unearthly and awe-striking in the sound, especially as the articulate vehicle of such a testimony to Christ, to be thus recalled.
Saying, This is my beloved son - "in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 17:5):
