A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
A maul - a heavy hammer or mace used in war (Jeremiah 50:23, note; 51:20; 2:1); literally, that which scatters in pieces (cf. note, Proverbs 12:18).
