But thus the Hebrew for "speech" х 'omer (H562)] is taken in another sense from that which it has in Psalms 19:2; and it is not used elsewhere in the sense 'dialect' or "language;" and it, destroys the parallelism. Therefore translate, 'There is not speech, and there are not words: their voice is not heard' (Hengstenberg). This, in a negative form, expresses the powerfulness of the testimony which the heavens give to the glory of God. They need no speech; because without it, in silent eloquence, they proclaim His power and Godhead.
