Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
Thy face ... shine ... servant - the Mosaic blessing (Numbers 6:25; cf. Psalms 4:6). The words "thy servant" imply an argument why God should hear his prayer; because God cannot but be gracious to His own servant.
