Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Now we know that what things soever the law (that is, the Scripture, regarded as a law of duty: cf. John 10:34 ) saith, it saith to them who are under the law (and of course, therefore, to the Jews);

That every mouth (that would open itself in self-justification) may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God, х hupodikos (G5267) geneetai (G1096)] - 'come under the judgment of God,' or stand condemned at His bar.
