For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man - q.d., 'from the bottom of my heart.' The word х suneedomai (G4913)] used here only, and well rendered "delight," expresses, especially in connection with the words "after the inward man," the deep joy of the whole spiritual and emotional nature in the law of God, and conveys (as does the weaker word of Romans 7:16, rendered "consent") a state of mind and heart to which the unregenerate man is beyond all doubt a stranger.
