The expression, "in the place where ... there," must not be taken too strictly, as referring to some particular locality, as Palestine, 'where (to use the words of Fritzsche, who takes this view) it was long questioned whether the Gentiles were admissible to Christian fellowship.' It seems designed only to give greater emphasis to the gracious change here announced, from divine exclusion to divine admission to the privileges of the people of God.
