Jeremiah 6:8 - Joseph Benson’s Commentary on the Old and New Testaments

Bible Comments

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, &c. Take warning by the many threatenings and judgments I have denounced against thee; amend thy ways and doings, lest, if thou persist in thy wickedness, I be utterly alienated from thee; and I cast off all bowels of compassion toward thee, and give thee up to ruin and desolation. This threatening God fulfilled afterward, when he suffered the city and nation to be utterly ruined and destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar: but it still received a further completion, in that final desolation brought upon them by the Romans, under Titus Vespasian.

Jeremiah 6:8

8 Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul departc from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
