Her son. — Probably the eldest. The LXX. has plural here and in the verb that follows.

Stayed. — Heb., stoodi.e., halted, stopped. (Comp. Luke 8:44, ἡ ῥύσις ἔστη.) Bähr makes the word mean continuedi.e., to flow (!).

6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
