Genesis 33:10,11 - Hawker's Poor Man's Commentary

Bible Comments

There is a difference in the expression of enough, in this verse, from the same expression in Genesis 33:9. Jacob's enough means, I have all. And so he had, according to Paul's explanation of covenant blessings. See 1 Corinthians 3:22-23; Philippians 4:18-19.

Genesis 33:10-11

10 And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

11 Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.b And he urged him, and he took it.
