Psalms 30:12 - Hawker's Poor Man's Commentary

Bible Comments

Jesus's strong crying and tears were so important a part in his mission, that the Holy Ghost seems to be directing the church to keep them continually in view. And he generally blends with them the triumphs of Jesus in his songs. Probably that these two grand features concerning Christ, which were prophesied of him, should be remembered, - the sufferings of Christ, and the glory which should follow. Never was that scripture more applicable to the members of Christ's body, than to the Head: 'They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy.' Psa 126:5-6; 1 Peter 1:11.

Psalms 30:9-12

9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
